European Parliament votes to end visa-free travel for Americans

As other countries' economies are struggling, such as the European Union (EU) due to the recent breakdown in alliances, currency worth is being affected and causing new economic pressure on the (EU) commission. 

Ways to balance the economy are being looked at as a result. When the US failed to reciprocate visa free travel from several in the alliance it gave the (EU) an easy way end visa-free travel – so now they can charge US citizens for visas.  The US has the capability to reciprocate and fix this alliance, but has not chosen to do so yet.  Will visas help the economy by generating more capital or hurt the economy by restricting potential tourists?
