Combating Childhood Neurological Disorders in Puerto Rico

With six out of every 1000 children being born with autism, two out of every 1000 being born with cerebral palsy, and 11% of 4-11 year-olds being diagnosed with ADHD, doctors across the globe have been working to treat different pediatric neurological disorders—and none have been more successful Dr. Carmen Báez Francecshi.

At the Wellness Institute of Neurodevelopment (WIN) in Puerto Rico, Dr. Báez Francecshi, who attended medical school in Puerto Rico and completed her residency in St. Petersburg, FL, has been developing programs that aim at treating childhood mental disorders, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other special needs. To develop a more comprehensive regimen that does more than conventional medication, Dr. Báez Francecshi treats children with a protocol that is unique to the individual child. This protocol, known as the Franceschi Method™, combines conventional and complementary medication that stimulates the brain’s development in three distinct phases:

Phase 1 - Comprehensive Evaluation

This phase includes a complete evaluation to uncover existing neurological disorders and to rule out disorders.

Phase 2 - Individualized Treatment

During this phase, a diet is curated to the child to nourish and stimulate the brain. Medication is also added at this stage to detoxify the body and beginning healing.

Phase 3 - Neurostimulation

This phase is designed to encourage the maximum brain development in a short period of time through multi-sensory psycho-emotional therapeutic sessions. Parents and caregivers are given reports on how their child is progressing and trained so that they may participate in their child’s healing.

Throughout the process, the patient is evaluated and re-evaluated to measure the progress and help Dr. Báez Francecshi decide if she needs to change the care she’s providing. (WIN) takes great steps in making sure that the care that is provided is intricate and of the highest quality. No other provider in Puerto Rico has had more positive results related to the improvement of patients with developmental delays than (WIN).
